To protect the health and safety of our community and staff, many Sutter County offices will be closed to the public starting March 20, 2020 until further notice.

Website Search Help

Our website uses a proprietary search engine that indexes the pages on our website nightly. Any pages that are added, modified or deleted today will be reflected in tomorrow's search index. By providing a familiar search results format that is ranked and ordered based on the entered search term, we hope to facilitate your ability to locate desired information on our website.

To initiate a search, enter your search term into the text box on the right side of the main navigation bar. See below for examples of the type of search terms you can enter. Once your search term is entered, you can either press the "Enter" key on your keyboard or click on the search button just to the right of the search text box. Any search results found will be displayed on the search results page.

Search Words or Phrases

Similar to many website search facilities, you can enter basic search terms separated by a space or you can enclose a single search phrase in double quotes. For example:

  • volunteer
  • jail commander
  • "National night out photos"

You can also enter partial words appended with an asterisk (*) to search for words that begin with that term. Entering a partial term can be helpful when a full word search does not produce results. For example:

  • esc*
  • fee* finger*

Our system will not allow you to enter multiple quoted phrases or a mix of a quoted phrase and words. You can only have one quoted phrase by itself or multiple non-quoted words.
