Officer Involved Shooting

On December 20, 2014, at approximately 11:54 hours, Sutter County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Barbara Way, Yuba City, for a subject making threats to harm family members via texts and phone calls.

After the deputies arrived on scene, the suspect pulled up in his vehicle. The suspect revved up his engine and proceeded to try to run the deputies over. The deputies fired their service weapon striking the suspect. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle and eventually pulled over and was taken into custody on Highway 99 south of Bogue Road.

Christopher John Jordan, 39, of Sacramento, was taken to Rideout Memorial Hospital for treatment and was later released and booked into Sutter County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and threatening a crime or great bodily injury. He is being held in custody with no bail.

No deputies were injured in the incident.

The Sutter County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the officer-involved shooting.

The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Jordan’s criminal matters.
