Arrest Made in Sikh Temple Stabbing

Sutter County Sheriff’s Detectives have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that occurred at the Sikh Temple in the 2400 block of Tierra Buena Road in Yuba City. Mangal Singh Sanghera, 43, of Yuba City was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and violation of probation.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2012, Sheriff Deputies responded to a call of a large physical disturbance with approximately 50-100 subjects fighting with sticks. Upon arrival at the scene, they found a 30 year-old male with a stab wound to his upper body.

Further investigation led to the identification of Sanghera as one of the persons responsible for this crime. Detectives are continuing their investigation. The motive for this incident remains under investigation at this time.
