Sutter County Sheriff’s Department Updated Website

Wednesday, May 27, 2009 2:00 PM

For Immediate Release:

Sheriff J. Paul Parker is proud to announce the launching of the newly updated website, By building upon the platform of the previous site, the new
format includes easier navigation tools and a more comprehensive listing of information
for use by law enforcement, fire personnel, members of the media, and the general public.

In addition to the new look to the website, it allows our website visitors online services
for the purpose of information exchange with our community. The online services page
provides our visitors with ability to obtain certain information regarding registered sex
offenders in our community as well as includes inmate lookup to see who is in custody in
our jail facility along with our V.I.N.E. (Victim Information Notification Everyday)
program which allows a citizen to sign up to be automatically notified if a certain inmate
is released. An additional online resource now available to the public is “Leave a Crime
Tip” function which allows citizens to provide the Sheriff’s Department with information
regarding suspected criminal activity or a public safety issue. The crime tip function
allows the information to be presented in an anonymous fashion, or allows for personal
contact by the Sheriff’s Department.

The website also provides citizens an interesting and informational journey as they
navigate throughout the department. This provides information of what your Sheriff’s
Department is currently doing, some information of what they have done; and historically
how the Sheriff’s Department evolved.

The website also includes a “live” press release function where the information can be
released in a more timely manner. This function also includes the ability to provide
updates to the original press release.

The website was a combined effort from rank and file members of the Sheriff’s
Department and under the guidance and expertise of Dave Miyachi and Tim Dunlap from
the Information Technology Department.

We invite you to visit our website.
