Patrol Positions

Sutter County Sheriff's Department has approximately 146 employees, 57 of which are Sworn.
The department has a SWAT team, Boat Patrol, Swift Water Rescue, ATV patrol, Dive team, Canine
team, School Resource Deputies, Reserve Deputies and a Mounted Posse.
Minimum qualifications for a Patrol Deputy are that the applicant must be at least twenty-one (21)
years of age at the time of appointment, possess a valid California Drivers License and have a minimum
of 30 semester units from an accredited college or 10 core course units in police science, successful
completion of a California Police Academy or possession of a POST basic certificate.
The Sheriff's Department also has a lateral deputy hiring program and periodically accepts applications
for lateral deputy recruitment.
Reserve Patrol Deputies provide a valuable role and function in the Patrol Division and we are actively seeking
