Homicide Investigation - Cause of Death - Identity of Victims
An autopsy of the victims killed on Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at the Sutter By-Pass, north of
highway 20 has been completed.
Xao NMN YANG, Hmong male juvenile, 17 years old, a resident of Yuba County was recovered on Wednesday
at the ditch bank at the by-pass. The autopsy determined that Xao YANG had been mortally wounded by
firearms fire.
Keng NMN YANG, Hmong male juvenile, 17 years old, a resident of Yuba County was recovered the next
day by family members searching the by-pass area. The autopsy determined that Keng YANG was also
killed as a result of firearms fire.
Sutter County Sheriff’s Detectives have continued to investigate this case since Wednesday however
no further information can be released at this time.
The Sheriff’s Office is still looking for a white Ford F150 pickup described as “a vehicle of
interest” that was seen near the area at the time of the shooting.
