Training Unit

The mission of the training unit is to provide quality programs that are comprehensive, contemporary, innovative and cost effective. This is accomplished by scheduling training at Regional Training Centers, Community Colleges, and private vendors throughout Northern California.

The training unit is responsible for all mandated training within the Department to include Peace Officers, Correctional Officers and Technicians, Public Service Dispatchers, Patrol and Correctional Reserves, and Civilian Employees.

The minimum training standards Peace Officers and Public Safety Dispatchers are established by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission. The Corrections Standards Authority establishes the minimum standards for Correctional Officers.
